Well the rain was torrential, the bunting disintegrated and it felt more like winter than summer but the stalwarts of the village were out to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee on Sunday 3rd June. There were cakes galore and Nigel’s’ BBQ really did have enough sausages to feed the whole Parish so no one went hungry. The Routemaster bus was a real success and when it wasn’t ferrying residents to and from the green it was full of interested visitors taking a trip down memory lane. On the last trip of the day there was even a sing song on board!
A big thank you to everyone who supported this event – in spite of the weather there was a great community spirit. Here’s hoping we have better weather for the fete!
