The Partnership Office is always busy, but so far this month it has been especially so, with Staff literally coming and going. Meanwhile we are working on the LEADER bid, planning for the Health and Wellbeing Marquee at the-Wayland Show and the Business Showcase event in September. In the Gallery throughout August there will be crafts and photographs on display and September will bring a solo show by our Patron, Helena Anderson Children of the World Exhibition.
The Men’s Shed have held their first AGM – it is hard to believe that a year has passed since the Men’s Shed was created; the members have done an amazing job in turning what was until recently the Army Cadets’ Headquar-ters. It has been very sad to learn that the Old School in Church Walk which is now the Men’s Shed headquarters and which we rent from the MOD, has been twice vandalised in recent weeks. It is hard to understand why anyone would want to damage a historic building. Fortunately the members have the skills to make repairs.
The Dementia Café has changed its name to the more attractive Wayland Memory Café. We are very grateful, al-ways, for the donations that come from the community and enable the Café to continue its work. In September the Wayland Women in Business group will be hosting a Fashion Show by Artichoke at Broom Hall, to raise funds for the Café. More details next month.
