Norfolk’s first ever Community Fridge is open!

Norfolk’s first ever Community Fridge is open! Based at Wayland House, the fridge will be stocked with surplus food and available to everyone across the community.

Each year in the UK we throw away nearly 15 million tonnes of food and drink. Nearly half of this is perfectly good to eat!

The Community Fridge enables businesses and individuals to waste less through the sharing of good quality food that’s within its use-by date.

Watton Bakery is the first business to confirm it will contribute to the scheme, by donating a selection of unsold goods daily at 3.30pm. The Wayland Partnership is calling on the support of all food businesses in Watton to donate surplus food still within its ‘use by’ date from 1 November onwards.

You can drop off good but unwanted food, and help yourself to what’s on the shelf. Please read the instructions and disclaimer prior to use.

Visit the Community Fridge Facebook page to find out what’s in the fridge today!
