Church news for May

At the Church AGM on 15th April, Julie Denton and David Riley, agreed to continue in their duties as Church Wardens, and we would all like to thank them for keeping things ticking over nicely in the church. We may be small in number, but we pride ourselves, that we all muck in, to keep Church Life active, from cleaners to flower arrangers, organist to tea makers. As our Vicars get fewer in number and have more responsibilities placed upon them, we feel it is important to keep our church active, and it is up to us to take responsibility too, so thanks to everyone in our Church Community who plays their part.
Playing a part in the life of Carbrooke and its people the church was full, as we sadly said goodbye to Jean Hood, whose funeral was held on 20th April. June lived a long life in and around Carbrooke, and was obviously a much loved family lady. We offer our condolences and love to her family.
On Sunday 21st April a family celebration filled the church for the Baptism of Caleb Huerta.

We were delighted to hear that the Churchyard Conservation Group, found all 5 rare marker species they look for in churchyards, so hopefully this will put us on the nature conservation map; – Churchyards are a valuable natural asset and if we leave some areas semi wild can act as a wildlife haven where rare plants can thrive for future generations to enjoy.
